  1. I have detected a strange behaviour on a certain DVD navigation depending on the player... I am not sure whether the problem is in the DVD structure (after re-authoring) or in the player.

    The First-Play PGC is:

    Jump to VMGM PGC 3

    The VMGM is as follows:
    -------------------------------------
    VMGM , LU 1 (en):
    VMGM , LU 1 (en) , 1 (0:01) TitleM - Chapters: n/a, Programs: 1, Cells: 1
    VMGM , LU 1 (en) , 2 (dummy) - Chapters: n/a, Programs: 0, Cells: 0
    VMGM , LU 1 (en) , 3 (0:01) - Chapters: n/a, Programs: 1, Cells: 1
    VMGM , LU 1 (en) , 4 (dummy) - Chapters: n/a, Programs: 0, Cells: 0
    VMGM , LU 1 (en) , 5 (dummy) - Chapters: n/a, Programs: 0, Cells: 0
    VMGM , LU 1 (en) , 6 (dummy) - Chapters: n/a, Programs: 0, Cells: 0
    VMGM , LU 1 (en) , 7 (dummy) - Chapters: n/a, Programs: 0, Cells: 0
    VMGM , LU 1 (en) , 8 (dummy) - Chapters: n/a, Programs: 0, Cells: 0
    VMGM , LU 2 (it):
    VMGM , LU 2 (it) , 1 (0:01) TitleM - Chapters: n/a, Programs: 1, Cells: 1
    VMGM , LU 2 (it) , 2 (dummy) - Chapters: n/a, Programs: 0, Cells: 0
    VMGM , LU 2 (it) , 3 (0:01) - Chapters: n/a, Programs: 1, Cells: 1
    VMGM , LU 2 (it) , 4 (dummy) - Chapters: n/a, Programs: 0, Cells: 0
    VMGM , LU 2 (it) , 5 (dummy) - Chapters: n/a, Programs: 0, Cells: 0
    VMGM , LU 2 (it) , 6 (dummy) - Chapters: n/a, Programs: 0, Cells: 0
    VMGM , LU 2 (it) , 7 (dummy) - Chapters: n/a, Programs: 0, Cells: 0
    VMGM , LU 2 (it) , 8 (dummy) - Chapters: n/a, Programs: 0, Cells: 0
    -------------------------------------

    VMGM , LU 1 (en) , 3 contains a JumptoTitle 7
    VMGM , LU 2 (it) , 3 contains LinkPGCn PGC 7

i.e. different commands. The effect is that, depending on which language is selected when the VMGM is entered, the navigation is different. The entry in the VMGM is selected by the First-Play PGC, so I assume that the selected language is decided by the player settings.
It has happened however that this DVD has been inserted in a player having "Italian" as preferred language, but the path corresponding to "English" has been followed instead. My question is: is this a problem in the DVD structure or in fault in the player? Shouldn't the player select the menu corresponding to the preferred language in the case illustrated?

yes, the player should select the LU that corresponds to the preferred language. It definitely looks like a player problem.
