You might have to send the audio through your sound card ?
    If in doubt, Google it.

I just checked Hauppage's website and it says you need a sound card. What do you have hooked up to your PVR 250 ? TV ? VCR ? What ?

You may need to tell your capturing software to use your sound card as the audio input as opposed to the PVR 250.

Either that or there might be a jack on the PCI slot side (inside your tower) that can connect to your sound card.
    If in doubt, Google it.

  4. okay on the card itself i have just looked and there is some odd looking thing that might be what ur talking about. its about an inch long looks like a small ide cable would fit in there of some kind just dont know what kind of sound card would hook up to that. That is the only way, because from what i understand what your saying, i need to take a line from my Tuner to my sound cards line in??? I dont have a audio out on my tuner! Now iam going a direct split from my satelite reciever to the tuner. Tell me if you can make any sense of what i just rambled on about.
    Thanks

You should be able to hook up your satellite receiver's audio directly into your sound card's line in (you might need a 2-RCA to 1 mono plug that any decent electronics shop will stock). There shouldn't be any "requirement" to hook the receiver into the PVR 250 and then the PVR 250 to your sound card AFAIK.
    If in doubt, Google it.

A google for "pvr 250 sound" found this (from our very own reboot):
The PVR-250 only uses audio from the tuner portion, for TV.
If you're using composite video in, then audio must go to the sound card.
    Set your capture software accordingly.
So it would appear to me that if you're using coax, the audio will come across but if you're using composite or S-Video then then you need to put the audio straight to your sound card.

Maybe your manual gives you instructions regarding the sound ???

Aaaah, the power of google ...
    If in doubt, Google it.
