Converting avi to dvd with winavi

I actually have a 2 part question:

1. when i convert my avi files which is almost 24 video clips it is to many to put on 1 dvd I want to put 12 on one disc and 12 on another. I've done a batch conversion with winavi and I have many files in my video_ts folder. How can it be seperated what associated files go with each other. Hope this makes sense.

2. After I have all these files are encoded to dvd I want to make menus to select each of the files. What software can I import these files and create menus.

1. use a software dvd player. don't play vobs.
2. tmpgenc dvd author, select add dvd video and choose the video_ts folder.
