    Hi there,

I have an HD full of variable length video clips transferred as .mov files from 14 mini-DVs shot with a DVX-100. I am trying to convert one of the files (named "004-4-av.mov") to DVD format using WinAVI 8.0

The conversion seems to start out OK but as it progresses I begin to get alternating frames of very colorful "snow."

I also received the following error message twice >> "Stream Rate Overflow."

    Can anyone suggest any fixes?

    (See more tech details below.)

    Thanks,
    Mitch

This is the .mov file info as seen by WinAVI --

My (admittedly primative) set-up consists of a Western Digital model 5000E032 HD connected to my computer via FireWire 800 (IEEE 1394b) through a SIIG FireWire 800 PCI card. My computer is an older P-III, running at 996 MHz with 512MB RAM. The OS is XP SP/2.

WinAVI is a mediocre tool at best. Baldrick provided an alternative above or you can go to the HOW TO - Convert section and find other guides/tools that can do what you need.
