    Hello folks!

    How are you all?

I am thinking to buy a MPEG-1,2 encoder license.

I would like to know what encoder is the best : Canopus Procoder or Tmpeg Plus.

    Thank you very much,
    Andy

    Best for what?

Raw quality, Procoder beats most encoders, no contest.

For quality of video filters, TMPG I like better.

And are you talking about the $500 full Procoder version or the wimpy Express version?

  3. Even the "wimpy" Express is better (and faster) than tmpgenc. Learn how to filter in virtualdubmod, and frameserve, then you don't need to slow encoding down to a crawl with encoder filters.
If you want full features, and a very fast encoder (WITH filters), try Mainconcept mpeg encoder, or CCE basic (with avisynth).

procoder noise and color level filters (and some others) are good - but sometimes hard to use as the settings are more a guess than anything ..

    procoder resize is poor -
