Hi I was hoping somebody might be able to help me. I recently bought a sony mini dv camcorder: DCR-HC19E. I wanted to make a DVD of what I captured. The software I got with the camcorder doesn't allow me to do this. I have used both Nero And Adobe Premiere Pro to capture the footage. When I then watch the DVD on my 32' widescreen Television the quality is decent but not brilliant its very grainy/pixelated. I am using a Firewire cable to connect my camcorder to my computer and my laptop is only 2 years old.
If I watch the footage by connecting my camcorder to the television the quality is perfect. Also if I connect my laptop to my television using a s-video to scart cable and watch the captured avi file the quality is perfect so it must be to do with the encoding. The footage on my camcorder is PAL. I have also tried this on my friends laptop with his sony camcorder and get the same problem. Is it just not possible to get the same quality when burning to a DVD or is there something else I shold be doing?
I would really appreciate somebody to help me. It would be much appreciated.
Thanks a million,
Gary.

You say you are using Nero and Adobe Premiere Pro to capture !
What software are you using to convert it to DVD ? -
Hi I used Nero initally it allows you to create a DVD Video so you follow afew steps - Capture the video then you can add more video files if you wish and finally you chose to burn it to dvd.
For adobe premiere Pro you capture the video first then you have an option to export diretly to dvd and it burns the DVD for you.
The quality on both is pretty much the same its good but not as good if I watched it by just connecting the camcorder to the TV.
Thanks for the reply
