Ok, here is my problem....
Backup DVD to my hard drive using MTR (full disc extraction). Then when i open the VIDEO_TS folder using DVD Player i get no audio and the video is choppy at first before it finally shows a still image, yet the counter still continues. The odd thing is when i burn to DVDr it plays perfectly in my stand alone player as well as in Panther. It seems obvious that there's something not right with either Tiger or DVD Player.
Anyone come across this bizarre behaviour?
Have you been able to resolve it?
*Note: If i use VLC Media player and open the VIDEO_TS folder, the movie plays as it should with the audio.
My specs:
G4 733
640MB RAM
OS X 10.4.1
MacTheRipper 2.6.6
DVD Player 4.6 (the latest version)

I have a G4 1Ghz 1.5GB RAM and a G3 350mhz 384 MB RAM running 10.4.1 and they both display DVD player (4.6) perfectly. It surprised me how well DVD player works in Tiger on the G3. Maybe the file it self is corrupt in some way?

Not meaning to sound flip about this but this is a known issue about DVD Player in Tiger. If you haven't yet updated to 10.4.1, please do so. If that hasn't resolved the issue, I can only suggest that you continue using VLC until Apple gets its act together with a 10.4.2 update.
