  1. I am trying to use this program to edit VOB files. What I do is extract the VOBs from an ISO file using ISObuster. The ISOs in the DVDs and hard drive come from web downloads. I get the following files:

    video_ts.bup
    video_ts.ifo
    video_ts.vob
    vts_01_0.bup
    vts_01_0.ifo
    vts_01_1.vob
    vts_01_2.vob
    vts_01_3.vob
    vts_01_4.vob
    vts_01_5.vob

The problem is that some files load and other do not. In the example above, vts_01_1.vob loads and is editable. However, vts_01_2.vob does not load and gives me the following error message:

This is an illegal video file.
This is an illegal video file.
For DVD standard you can only use
    MPEG-1 video or MPEG-2 video

What is more the ISObuster option to extract the MPEG files is not available, I can only extract or run the Vobs. Some of the other files, vts_01_3.vob also load and usually the last VOB file also loads. However, if there are only two VOB files, the last one does not load.

Any ideas of what is going on. Or better yet, does anyone know of a different program that edits VOB files.

    Thank you.

Try select add dvd-video in tmpgenc dvd author and choose the folder with the vobs instead of open the vobs one by one.

  3. Baldrick:

Thank you for your suggestion. I tried it last night and it worked with an ISO file that I had completely extracted. I thought that option was to be used only when accessing DVD disks. Thank you for the clarification.
