    Good Morning to all,
Please accept my appologies if this is in the wrong forum. I could not seem to find a suitable place for my question.
    Question:
Once the price of DL discs gets down to my price threshold, I would like to place some videos on them with a fairly high bit rate. Now, I currently have the videos in two separate formats, VIDEO_TS folder with VOBS and the like and in ISO mode created by DVD Shrink.
My question is which format would be more beneficial for burning to DL discs. My concern is over the layer split. Does the burning software automatically put in the split when one layer is full or are there options to cause the split at an arbitrary point. I presume there would be no noticable change in playback when going from one layer to the next. Also, based on an arbitrary layer split (being settable) would it make sense to arrange the video content to take advantage of that break point, like an intermission or some such?

    Thanks,
    Ed
