I thought it would be a good idea to start a thread on peoples conversion speeds. Please include your method and time per section (eg. rip, frameserve, encode) and also what system you are using.
Iam using an AMD Thunderbird 1Ghz 266Mhz FSB, 256MB RAM, AK37-A Motherboard.
RIP- Smartripper, 25mins.
Frameserve - DVD2AVI - 2 Hrs (using 64bit floating point)
Encode - Using Tmpeg - 4 Hrs

Just a comment, shouldn't you also include the movie length? Seems a bit pointless to say how long to rip / encode when you don't know the length of the movie or indeed what type of movie. Just my 2 cents.
cheers,

blah....movie length actually has nothing to do with rip time...i've seen 120 min movies with smaller size vobs than 90 min movies....gotta include the filesize
also, certain features also increase the time...i.e.
smartripper -> enabling demacrovision increases time
dvd2avi -> downsampling, normalizing increases time...and also the higher bitrate audio you extract, the longer it'll take cuz the resulting .wav will be bigger...i.e. 448 kbit audio file >>>> 128 kbit audio file
tmpgenc -> cq_vbr or 2 pass vbr...makes a big difference....also blend (adaptive) >>>> blend big time...., etc..
