  1. I have this weird problem, been trying couple different brand of dvd +r/ -r
    Philips, HP, Fuji, and Ritek
if I burn full dvd format(vob), any type works fine, player can play them no problem, but when I burn avi(Divx) file, only HP works, and Fuji with reading problem once in awhile... and nothing else works.

If I burn avi file to Cd-r, it never fails too.
Now all dvd disc has been burned exactly the same setting and the same 2.4x speed, so any idea what went wrong?? or just my Malata DVP 530 player only like HP dvd+r disc only??

Anyone has any explaination pls?? is it just my player that's not good at all??

  2. Could it be because of the writer at all??
should I be investing on a better writer? ?

Since the avi files are not readable owrn the dvd player, it still readable from the dvd writer

    Any idea at all??

Maybe your players don't like AVI format on burnable DVD discs, but your post is unclear as to exactly what you are doing. Some players don't like certain brands of media, so that could also be a problem.
