I've looked everywhere but can't find a DV capture program that outputs the number of dropped frames after a capture. For me, this is a critical issue because I like to use my computer while I am capturing a 2 hour tape and I need to know if there was a moment when frames were dropped due to the computer being used by something else.
I had a program that did this but I can't remember the name of it....
I tried Exsate but there were times when it dropped frames but told me it didn't. So I am looking for something that works.

Another option is Scenalyzer. In addition to counting dropped frames, it also lets gives you the option to "stop recording" in the event that frames are dropped. Although not freeware, it has lots of other great features that I have found extremely useful.
