    I was thinking of purchasing TMPGEnc 3.0 XPress. I see from their site the software requires 'periodic licence renewal' over the internet.
    Something does not seem right about this... any thoughts or experiences regarding this?

    It sucks.
    Get Tmpgenc 2.5x Plus if you must.
    Better to get Canopus Procoder Express, mainconcept mpeg encoder, or just about anything faster than t3x.
