Anybody figure out a way to do this ?

I know other apps use the same Libavcodec, but the performance doesn't compare.

    Thanks

I emailed a similar question, directly to VSO support, a few months ago. They told me that it is not possible to do that.

That won't work as it would need to support VFAPI and unlike mencoder you can't just add it to the codecs.conf as there is none.

If it has commandline support you could pipe it via avs2yuv. Otherwise VSO need to add internal piping, which really wouldn't be that hard. They can look at the source of avs2yuv, QuEnc, x264, etc.

Although I guess that only takes care of the video. Although avs2wav can pipe either to pcm wav or raw pcm.

Thanks very much, guys. Yeah, I tried VFAPI and MakeAVIS from FFDSHOW. No go.

Avs2yuv works great with your FFMPEG.EXE compile, Celtic_Druid. The performance of that is very good, almost as fast as DivxtoDVD. Perhaps that will be the route for my TV captures.
