Hey all, Im a newbie... My big problem with converting dvds once i rip them is that i can never get them to fit on a 700 meg cd. I've used the bitrate calculators to determine the proper bitrate, I've used virtual dub to put the audio and video together and I've looked at 3 billion different ripping packages with directions. Everytime I convert to either an mpeg or an avi, the file size comes out to be 800-900 meg. I cant stand it. Is there any prog out there that allows you to shrink the size to 700 meg or less? any advice would be sweet. thanx

  2. When you used the bitrate calculator did you have it set to DivX for xVCD/SVCD? An 80min CDR will hold 700MB of mode1 (DivX) data or 800MB of mode2 (MPEG) data. That 'could be' the problem?

The bitrate calculators should work so...
