I’ve been digging through ATI & nVidia’s sites and can’t find what I’m looking for (actually, on ATI’s site all the search results link to documents that are either in Korean or Japanese…).
Unfortunately, I really can’t think of any other card manufacturers….
Can somebody please point me to video cards that have HDMI output?
Or is this something that simply hasn’t come out yet?

    TIA!!

HDMI is backward compatable to DVI-D output (found on any DVI (digital) video card ..

BUT - most HDTV also have HDCP and though accepting the DVI signal - will not display anything as video cards dont ussually have HDCP

my card has a DVI-I output, so i bought a DVI > HDMI cable and connected it to my TV, but the results were dissapointing to say the least
    it just won't work
    read it here: https://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=258227

I know I'm not the only one out there who wants to be able to do this...
I hope the manufacturers realize the market for this and start producing a product that supports it.
a card with an HDMI out on it would definitely sell

as i said -- it is backwards compatible .. BUT it doesnt work very often because of HDCP ...

and HDCP is a big taboo on pc cards because of piracy ...

Not much difference between HDMI and DVI. In fact, the only difference i can recall is that HDMI carries an Audio signal. Otherwise, everthing is the same.

    I don't get it
why would HDCP be taboo on video cards?
are the video card makers wanting to support piracy? that doesn't seem right....

i want to be able to use my HD set as a monitor, mostly for gaming, but occasionally for the web and maybe even for previewing video projects prior to burning
    that's not piracy!
