Hi there. I recently brought Kaspersky Internet Secuity because it was recommnded by a person at work. The program is great to remove viruses, but the Firewall I think is causing problems.
In order for the internet to run normally, I have to not be running the program. When I do run this program, my internet explorer states that all the websites I visit have invalid "security certificates." When I dont run Kaspersky, all runs smoothly and it states nothing about invalid secrity certificates. I visited http://mail.yahoo.com and http://www.bankofamerica.com which I always visit. I dont think in reality that there is nothing wrong with these certificates at these websites and they are the real websites. I think it's all due to Kaspersky. (At the time I poseted this info, Kaspersky was not running).
Any thoughts? Opinions?
Although, it could be worse--I originally thought kaspersky deactivated the modem saying it was in use when in fact it was not--did a restart, uninstall drivers for modem and in the modems connection, and got it back to normal--therefore, that was not Kaspersky's problem--that was just a coincidence--and it was actually Malware. And it even got worse--it realized the modem was there and it dialed into Netscape but even though it was connected, the internet explorer acted as if I was offline and everything had DNS errors..........anyway...that was fixed as well....."uninstalled Norton Utilitlies, uninstalled modem and Netscape software, and reinstalled everything and then today it was almost back to normal. I was going to do a rollback, but I did not have too. And now it is just the matter of correcting the invalid site security certificates.

You'll also have the balancing act between kasp's firewall , and windows firewall to deal with .
If you can't download a file from a website , disable kasp's firewall temporarily is a simply solution .
Its a product I don't recommend for those starting out .

As for a better product , avg internet security . -

Cool. Thanks for the link.
Yeah, another one of my co-workers mentioned AVG as well, but I bought KAS because it seemed "attractive." But dont worry about me when it comes to computer problems......making mistakes helps me learn...yeah most of the time if I dont recognize a process I deny it, but then again, I could deny a good process which is not good........but dont worry if I cause problems to my computer, I can always do a rollback Like for example I thought that waucidt was a bad process, and I found that it is an OK process......... I think I better post on their board for a list of windows XP process so I know which ones to kill.
