I am video-capturing basketball games from cable TV. Some of the games are from HD channels, some are from just standard channels. I am using the ATI TV Wonder USB box for the capture hardware. I am using Nero 6 Ultra for the capture software.

I set the capture software options for 16:9 screen size, DVD quality, which comes to 9716 Kbits/sec. Resolution is set to 720X480. Audio is Dolby Digital. The video capture runs fine.

I use Nero 6 Ultra to burn a DVD from the basketball game. No matter which Quality setting I use, High Quality (9716 Kbits) or Standard (5073 Kbits), with a 720X480 resolution, I get a blurred video. When the players are moving down the court, especially during closeups, the movement is blurred, which makes viewing impossible without getting a headache. I play the video on my PC before I burn it, and the blurr is there. So it's not the burning that causes the blurring. I'm trying to somehow remove the blurr during the burn, and am searching for the correct setup.

The DVD drive is a Plextor PX-716A. I'm burning at 12X, using Verbatim platters.

I could understand if the problem was occuring only from the HD channel, there's probably too much detail for the software/hardware to handle, but it does it on standard channels. I'm doing playback on a Sony DLP TV.

Is there a setting that I'm missing? What am I doing wrong, or am I trying to accomplish something that's not possible? I'm wasting many DVD platters trying to come up with a solution.
