  1. I pulled a ~55 minute movie into my XP PC using my MiniDV camcorder, firewire, and Moviemaker. It ended up being about 16GB, I chose the highest resolution I think and saved it as an .avi file. I ultimately want to get it onto a DVD for my parents.

I used the demo version of TMPGenc and, when I was done, the sound was all screwed up. It sounded like we were talking _very_ slowly and deep, kind of the opposite of the Chipmunks.

I assume this is due to the encoding? How is this avoided or fixed?

    Thanks very much in advance,

    Chris

You chose the only resolution - DV is a file transfer exercise.

Did you use the tmpgenc mpeg encoder or tmpgenc express ?

What format for audio did you choose ?

What did you test it with ?

    Gotcha, thanks.

Hmm, not sure. I'll have to take another look.

    I just left the defaults.

Media Player 10 complained that it didn't have the latest CoDecs, so I played it with the latest VLC player I downloaded.

    Thanks again,

    Chris
