    Hi

    I live in England (PAL).

Does anyone know that if I buy a VCR with NTSC playback (i.e. plays back through the T.V. set) will it also send out a NTSC signal which I can pass through ADVC 100 and then on to Premier Pro 1.5.

In other words - will I get 'playback' and S-VHS OUT on the NTSC signal.

    Thank you in advance.

    Stephen.

Equipment in the UK are both NTSC/PAL compliant.

    Thank you Waheed.

Are you saying YES the NTSC signal will be transferred to my PC in addition to 'playback'?

I need to confirm this before I buy a new VCR.

    Thanks.

    I disagree.

UK uses what is known as a multi system equipment for both tv and vcr (meaning they can playback both NTSC and PAL). A multi system vcr will allow you to playback videos from overseas (eg usa, NTSC) but DOES NOT convert the video signal. The signal will be outputed at NTSC.

Most PAL VCR's with NTSC PLAYBACK will put out a PAL60 video signal when you play a NTSC tape.
It's not a standard NTSC signal!
Only a real multisystem VCR will do that.
So if the ADVC 100 can work with PAL60 it would be fine, but I don't think it will work with it.

I have the same problem here, I can playback NTSC tapes, but my D8-passthrough does not accept the PAL60 signal.
