  1. When I try to open a divx file with TMPGEnc, i get an error message saying cannot open or not supported. Sometimes, it will open the movie when the file is currently being downloaded, but other than that, incomplete divx files with fixed indexes and complete divx files wont open worth crap. Anyone know why?

  3. Try also to install the DivX 3 codec, which can be found on this site under tools. It worked for me.

You have to rip the sound track with vdub then use that as your audio file in tmpenc.

I had the same problem. Divx files I downloaded wouldn't play in WMP, or convert in TMPGENC.

MY SOLUTION: Installed DIVX2MPEG4. This little program zaps the header of the AVI (it doesn't re-encode) to your choice of Divx Low, Divx High, MPEG4. I zapped the AVIs to MPEG4...and everything works.

Can you post a link to that program? I can't seem to find it.
