I have just been sent a video clip, and WIndows is telling me its a .mov file and "should" be opened in quicktime. However when i try to open it, quicktime says it is unable to open the file and i will have to download the codec from quicktime website, however i have no idea which one to download. I have divx and VLC player also. In divx the error says there is no video file, and in VLC i just see a scrambled screen. When i go to movie inspector in quicktime this is the format (im guessing its a dodgy codec) -

    "WMA2", Stereo , 44,100KHz
    WMV2, 320 x 240, Millions

Is it just me or does it seem strange that a .mov file has the format of a windows multimedia file?

Anyways would love a hand in pointing me in the right direction to either convert the file or find a view that will play it.

    Thanks in Advance

wmv2 and wma2 is usually in a wmv container. I gues you have just tried rename it to wmv and open in wmp? Or if it's a mov I would try open it in mpeg streamclip and convert to some other format.
