Ok, Edited... Subtitles assistance please..

Hi, ok. I have an avi file which I made into a nstc DVD using Tmpgenc. I downloaded subtitles for this film but it is in Romanian language whic is a .sub file. Is there a way I can convert this subtitles to English and also see if it is even in sync since I originaly had an .avi file and the subs are from a site? I hope you can answer this..

You can open with Subtitle Workshop and translate manual.

To check if the subtitle is synchronized with your movie:
1. open that .sub file in Subtitle Workshop and note the frame rate.
2. then click Movie and Open, to open your .avi file.
3. if original frame rate has changed when you open the movie in Subtitle Workshop, just click save.

You can not just convert into another language. Try to find the subtitle in English, or you would have to translate yourself. It's easier than to learn Romanian.

Great thanks, i got the english subtitles with a 25 fps rate but my .avi file has been already converted to a dvd with a 29.97 fps rate and I deleted the original .avi, so how can I do this??

It is difficult to say now when you do not have the avi.
You should experiment a bit. Just guessing: the original avi was probably in 23.976 framerate, maybe in 29.97.
So open Subtitle Workshop, open your subtitle and change the framerate (on the left) into 23.976, then save as...
You would see if it is in sync with the movie, when you add it during reauthoring.

Thank god I can still spell, Hrvatski used to be my first language, I was bor In canada but raised in Hrv. until I was 3,then back to Canada...
But I always go back home to visit almost every year...I noticed your location on your profile so I thought I would just say something for fun...
