You have 1 month to decide whether to return/exchange LG drive. Use it wisely.
Service packs have nothing to do with your DVD player's noise (to my knowledge). Test on diff. apps and decide. Abnormal noise is not a good sign whatever app you use. -
Hello again...
I received a dvd-r show in a trade (brand: fuji) and when I played in the dvd rom
player LG of my brother...this maked a rare sound just like the player "trembled" ...
so I was played others dvds later of that and happen the same ...(branded or no-branded,dvdrs or silver pressed)
So I sent the dvd rom player to the tech service of LG (the dvd rom player have 11 month of use)
The tech service tell me that something could be happen in the rotation of the motor...
and it's possible LG change the dvd rom player for a new one...
(but the tech service will confirmed this after of a complete revision)
I'll buy a dvd burner LG for me...for burning and for play dvds...
A question, please:How I can prevent all this problems ? I always receive dvds in trades
and it's obvious that the disc dvd that I played was the guilty of all this problem..
Thanks in advance -
Did the disc have a label? That can cause vibrations. You should take a look at the discs before you play them. A badly out of balance disk could damage a player, but most of them will shut down quickly if they can't read the disc.

One of my DVD's has caused the laser pickup to overheat and as a result the pickup had to be replaced. Played all but this disk (it worked but stumbled, froze DVD plaer etc.). After the replacement I was able to play the same disc without problems. I guess it helped the potential future problem to surface much earlier then it normally would. Things happen.

Thanks for the replies ....
proxyx : No ,none of the dvd discs that I was played have a label ....
please, could you tell me how can I recognize a dvd disc “out of balance” ?
in wednesday I received one dvd disc with a label ...
please...how can I know if one dvd disc with label can damage a dvd rom player ?
maybe checking the edges of the disc ?
(if exist some are where the label don’t be stick in good form) well this disc seems just like be stick very well ...
redbudz: The disc dvds also can cause overheat in the laser ?
please ,how can prevent this ? -
It all boils down to playability. If it's OK, no strange noises, vibrations and freez-ups - leave it alone. Never used labels and don't plan to. This is just asking for trouble. I leave the disk as it was manufactured.

I can't tell, I guess when it dies on you you'll find out.
