  1. Somebody has lent me a dvd when I play It In my dvd player I get a picture, background noise everthing works basicly but when the characters speak you can't hear there voices atall was just wondering If anybody new the reason for this.

    If you hear the background noise in the soundtrack, but not voices, the problem is most likely phase cancellation. Check your speaker wiring and connections.

  4. AC3 5.1 audio with no center channel speaker. Reconfigure your audio setup for the speakers you have -- probably stereo (2.0) or stereo plus a sub (2.1). Configure the AC3 decoder to downmix too.
