  1. Hi there,
I am using Goldwave to take a wav file from an avi. There is about 23 seconds at the start of the avi where there is no sound. The first sound in the video starts at 23 seconds.
After resampling and converting to wav, somehow, the silence that should be 23 seconds long is only 9 seconds long so then when I try to use the wav and avi together to make an mpg file (using TMPGEnc), the audio is out of sync. Why would this be? The original avi is all in sync.
    Can anyone help?
    Thanks for reading.

  2. Could be that the sound in the AVI is VBR MP3 or corruption in the AVI file itself. The way to fix this would be to use Goldwave to add enough silence at the start the file to make the audio and video playing times equal.

  3. How would I find out if the audio is VBR MP3? Using Virtualdub?
    Thanks for your reply

Yes if the AVI file has VBR MP3 audio, then virtualdub will give you a warning...
