  1. i am using win dvd rec, winfast pvr , fly tv 2000 & nero vision express to capture tv & have experienced frame dropping with at least some of these applications.

is there anything i need to check to stop this?

i am capping to a seperate HD which has been defragged & using a seperate graphics card GeForce.

i am rec to mpeg2 to then burn to dvd

    What is your CPU ?
How much memory do you have ?
What programs are running in the background (anti-virus/anti-spyware/webshots etc) ?
Do you browse while capturing ?

  4. Search for a program called Enditall. I don't know if it still free or not. It will allow you to turn off programs and processes. It would help if you filled in you computer specs.

  6. See the sticky about dropping frames, that's why its a sticky.

Put computer specs in your profile for future use.

Try capping with no audio as a test, onboard sound often an issue.
