i have a P4 1.8
768 M ram
at the most i may have anti virus running but do try & remember to disable that before capping, otherwise def no applications
didnt think about spyware running though?
certainly dont browse whilst capping
also cap to a seperate HD -
Search for a program called Enditall. I don't know if it still free or not. It will allow you to turn off programs and processes. It would help if you filled in you computer specs.

thanks for that
my pc specs are
P4 1.8G
768 M Ram
Geforce 4 graphics card
on board sound card.
capping to seperate 20G HD -
See the sticky about dropping frames, that's why its a sticky.
Put computer specs in your profile for future use.
Try capping with no audio as a test, onboard sound often an issue.
