    Hi all,

Searched the forum first but couldn't find quite the same problem so here it goes.

With a lot of files my media player turns green. It will play for a second but a green screen will appear almost instantly slowing the whole computer down as well.

Now some files I can play fine in other players such as BS and VideoLan but some of them are protected so I need media player fully functionnal.

So far I've tried reinstalling media player, all my codecs(divx, xvid even matroska etc...) to no vail. I tried every combinaison possible in the advance settings of the performance tab. Overlays seems to accentuate the problem but on the long run the green screen will still occur

I have the latest drivers for everything in my computer , things running in the background or not doesn't seem to make a difference, what's running is not consuming a lot of ressources anyway.

    Anybody got an idea.

    Thanks

    Phil

Usually, this is down to a codec problem. Try an alternative codec to what you already use.

I always have problems playing in media player, especially dvds. I could be a bug in media player. do a forum search and you see how many people are having problems with windows media player.
