After I record tracks with my Magnavox MRV640, I try to use DVD shrink to rip some of the tracks back for personal editing & I get an error message that states:

DVD Shrink encountered an error and cannot contine.
    Invalid DVD navigation structure.

Any ideas as to why this is happening??

Also does anyone know if this recorder will record 704 x 480 Resolution?

  2. Shrink doesn't like discs made by set top dvd recorders. You'll have to use soemthing else. I rip with dvdecrypter & reauthor.

How old is your version of DVDShrink?
I have an old Philips Recorder and DVDShrink has no problems opening them.

It sounds like you are using an RW disc. It may not be DVDShrink that was causing the problems. As I recall Maganavox units are Philips units. Look for a "protect" feature in the menu after you record to the RW disc....that should take care of any future conflicts....SHOULD.

Protect feature is off, it seemed though after I completely erased a New RW disc, then recorded to it again, Shrink read it fine.

My Philips DVDR75 does the same thing.
Sometimes Shrink will not read a DVD+RW made in the R75 and if you use it again it works fine.
Have more trouble with RICOHJPN W01 (TDK 2.4x)
and INFODISCA01 (Memorex 2.4x) than RICOHJPN W11 and CMC MAG W01.
Mine seems to like the CMC best which makes sense since Phillips uses CMC for thier branded discs.
