    Hi does anyone have a file or a code to remove macrovision from phillips dvd player dvp642.

    There is none,Only to DVD recorders,But no to VHS,uless you have upgraded the firmware.

    Hi i tried to use the firmware and it did nothing.I still cant even record to a vcr .The macrovision is still there.

    OK, what is your current firmware and do you have a model with the E designation. If you have 1109 and an E designation you can't go back to 531 and you will be unable to remove Macro.
    Still a few bugs in the system...
