4gb could be related to the 4gb filesize limitation of FAT32 formatted hard drives. If you have NTFS formatted hard drives (your capture drive), then you should be able to capture the entire video to one file -- dv .avi uses about 13gb per hour.

    EDIT:
Just wanted to mention that a new question should be started in a new thread -- not to take away from the original poster of this thread.
My drive is NTFS. Why it clip to that file size?

Also I realize that the file size is exactly 15:00 of video.

  2. automatic AVI splitting according to the timestamps on DV recordings
every video sequence can be saved into unique file
This comes from the README file. I think this is the issue...

yes, that makes sense. Your other post mentioned it splitting at 4gb (or I assumed the "4g" meant 4gb file size).

When I capture, I usually set it to break at the first scene after going over the 2gb mark. So your capture software is probably setup to break at the 15-min mark, or at the 3.xgb mark.

  4. Yes,

But I use WinDV and I can't find any settings for this. I want 1 file for my entire DV cassette.

Under CONFIG, the "Capture From" tab, do you see "Max avi size (frames)"

If you were capturing PAL (25fps), then 15 minutes would be 25fpsx60x15=22500

So if that field has something like 22500 in it, your captures will be 15 minutes...

  6. Exactly.

Thanks. Although I think about the computation of "max avi size". I still can't figure it out. My A/V basic is too bad.

Ill try it later and feedback the result then.

    Cheers.

Yes, thats right. I change it to 135000 for 1 hour and 30 min video.

    Thanks...
