  1. I have an 844 Mb VCD.mpg file that I'm trying to burn onto a CD and I know it's just a tad too large. I have already tried clipping off the intro and credits or the movie but it's still a little bit too big. So, I heard you can reduce the bitrate or something like that in the TMPGEnc settings but I don't know what's the best way to decrease the filesize a little bit without losing much quality. So if you could please advise me on the subject of changing the appropriate setting(s) in TMPGEnc, I'd greatly appreciate it. By the way, I am using the NTSCFilm template so most settings are "greyed-out" in TMPGEnc so I'm assuning I cannot use a template with your instruction?...

    TIA,

  2. try a bitrate calculator to find the maxiuim bitrate soo you can fit it on to one CD and if you want only to chenge the bitrate on TMPGEnc...first load the NTSCfilm template then the unlock template this will unlock the setting but will keep the NTSCfilm setting and just change the bitrate

  3. You can try clipping the start/ending as much as possible and then overburning it (assume you've got a CDR that supports it and 'good overburning' media).

To lower the bitrate you'll need to re-encode the whole MPEG.

  4. Should I change the audio bitrate, video bitrate or both? By how much?

    Thanks again!

  5. If you lower the audio bitrate sometimes DVD players dont support it, coz XVCD audio standards are 224 etc.
So I suggest you dont change it, thats where I have gone wrong and ripped out hair numerous times.
