  1. Ever since I downloaded the latest upgrades for Nero 6 (version 6.6.0.6) I have lip sync problems when burning films. It starts off ok, but as the movie goes on, it gets progressively worse, ending up with the sound being about 2 seconds before the picture.

    Any ideas around it?

Can you describe your process? I use Nero 6.6.0.6 and don't have this problem.

The only time I get audio sync problems is when recording VHS via passthrough with my digital camcorder. But that's actually normal (unfortunately) and has to be fixed after the fact.

  3. I have a file (.avi) that I've downloaded. If I watch the .avi file on my computer then there is no problem, but when I try to burn the file using Nero Startsmart I get the lip sync problems. It only happens since I got the latest set of upgrades from nero.com.

AVI is a very general audio/video "container". What's inside?

  6. Wilco,

What format are you burning to VCD/SVCD/DVD ?

Don't use nero to encode your AVI to the desired format. Use an external encoder like TMPGEnc etc to encode your file and THEN use nero to burn your disk. If you face sync problem you can use VirtualDub to frameserve to TEMPGEnc or any other encoder you are using.
