    Hi all, first post here

Anyways I have recently been converting my entire movie collection into MP4 and AVI (for personal use in case your wondering), I first rip the DVD to the hard drive and then convert from the folder, but with a few discs I have noticed that the lips don't match the words on a few movies, specifically when I tried to convert "Deja Vu" the gap was a few seconds out. Even some television series has this issue.

I have searched everywhere and the only solution I have found is to do it manually using programs like AVI Demux but with the amount of DVDs I have the process of doing this takes way too long.

Anyone else having these problems, also if there are any programs out there that can sort this automatically (lazy I know) but I have very little time during the week and only have weekends free.

    Thanks for help, Wayne.

A quality, updated DVD ripper is your first line of defense....a "ripper"....not a converter or conversion tool. DVDFabDecrypter(free version of...) DVDFab and AnyDVD come to mind first.

And you are using it to convert to mp4 and avi also? Be sure to use latest version.

You can also just try rip with dvdfab and then convert the video_ts folder with staxrip, handbrake, fairuse wizard, etc.

I bought AnyDVD and CloneDVD and use those. Another program I would like to buy is ... CloneDVD Mobile ... I've used it too and it does a very good job of converting DVD movies to AVI videos.

You can adjust the size to fit on CDs and of course on DVDs ... and also allows 2 - 3 passes ... very handy to make a very clear picture. Only downside is the audio is VBR ... which is no big deal ... unless you want to open it up in Virtualdub ... VD dont like VBR audio.

3 Years ago ... I put 3 avi movies on a single DVD in DVD Data mode using Nero Express ... and brought it to work [Quest House - Turning Point] for the clients to watch the movies. A few days later ... I walked into the living room and they were watching a movie ... I asked them what were they watching ? They said ... the movies you brought us ...... wow ... very clear and looked good on the TV. I also provided the DVD player ... a Philips DVD player that can play ... Divx / Xvid ... videos.

When after working at the Quest House - Turning Point ... for 4 Years and 2 Months ... I was laid off ... July 1st 2008 ... due to the contract with the State of California not being re-instated again ... might sound mean ... but I took everything home with me ... Philips DVD Player ... and the videos and DVD Album containers that I brought for the clients to watch and use. I did replace the Philips DVD Player with a cheap $30 DVD player from Walmart.
