I have had this plextor for a little over a year. Let me tell you this has been a great machine. I have never had a problem with it until now. I did upgrade to the latest firmware. I have run into 2 DVD's this week (that i Own) that are giving me errors.
I travel alot and learned awhile ago that if i bring my dvd's i either leave them someplace or they end up getting scratched. I used the latest dvd decryipter and around 70-80% it gives me a check condition. Both dvds are tv series and look fine for scratches. I also backed up to regualr movies and it worked fine.
I find it strange that i have never had a problem all this time and now do. Could it be my firmware? Could the drive be going bad? I have also tried several other programs and they all stall.
Please help!

flash it back to the older firmware. in my opinion if the drive works fine with the media you use then there isn't a reason to upgrade to the latest firmware. if it ain't broke why upgrade. just my 2 cents. check out the plextor forum at cdfreaks.com.
