Plextor PX-B310U

I was interested to see if anyone knew anything about the Plextor PX-B310U.

The specs for Blu-ray are:

This is an external Blu-ray Drive, retailing for 199$.

What I was interested to know is if anyone knew if this was a good Blu-ray drive for:

1: Ripping blu-rays, to make digital copies of my collection.

2: Is there anything better for around the same 200$ price tag.

I'm using a laptop, so sadly can't get an internal drive. So for an external option, is this good, and will it work for ripping Blu-ray?


I wasn't sure if this should go under the Blu-ray to Blu-ray or the Blu-ray Writers forum, please forgive my ignorance if this is in the wrong location.

Any drive that can read the disc will work for ripping.
