Has anybody done a resample of 5.1 DTS 44.1khz to 5.1 DTS 48khz or encode 6 mono PCM 48 khz to DTS before?

Is DVD DTS the only software that can do this?

To resample it you will have to demux the six mono channels out to seperate wav files, resample up, then reencode back to DTS. To do this you need a DTS encoder. There was a freeware one floating around at one stage - I can't remember what is was called, or how good it was. Check the Tools section. I use Surcode's DTS encoder for my work.

Have a look at this place. They have a DTS to Wav and Wav to DTS app (OK - two seperate apps) and other goodies. All free.

    hehe

these are no encoders! WAV means DTSWAV! I remember those two apps, as far as I remember it was still necessary to rebuild the streams with the DTSparser - but there was an issue with the results.
-> 48KHz <~> 44.1KHz wonīt work or something like that, the programs only changed the target file header ....
plz try it out and report

more needful should be this guide, but itīs basically the same as besweet/azidts

    Thanks for the replies folks.

    @ guns1inger

How fast is the Surecode DVD DTS encoder?
Reading from the link you provided, IMO the the DTS to WAV converts only from DTS (playable by DVD player software) to WAV (DTS encoded). And the reverse for WAV2DTS. I am not sure if these tools can convert a 6 channel DTS wave 44.1 khz to 6 channel DTS wave 48 khz or take multiple 6 mono 44.1 khz files and encode/convert them to a 6 channel one wave file 48khz.

Well you have mentioned Surecode. It is one of the Surecodes by Minnetonka Audio Software. This is the URL: http://www.surcode.com/low/dvdDts/dvdDts.htm.

Have you tried Nuendo plugin? how fast is the encoder?

very fast, but it depends on your CPU and your disc space

sorry I only have read about this encoder -

Sorry those tools convert nothing -> you can change the format of the file header (48KHz stays 48KHz / 44.1KHz stays 44.1KHz)
the reason for this is: you can feed the main app Hypercube Transformer only with DTS and AC3 -> no DTSWAV support AFAIK.

Thanks for the reply. That is what I meant. They convert only the headers. They actually do not convert the sampling rate. From what i read, some people may want to use wav2dts to convert the headers of wave (dtswave) to dts extension so that it can be playable with PowerDVD. But I read VideoLan can play wav (dtswave) files.

Let say, I have a 6 channel DTS 48 khz wave.

Will DVD-Lab take this file as an audio asset without converting it?

Or what DVD authoring can take this file as an audio asset?

DVd Lab Pro will take a compliant DTS audio track quite happily.
