The first time I tried to download TMPEnc it asked me software to open it with, I chose Adobe Acrobat (PDF)which it doesn't function in. Since, I have deleted all related cookies and temporary Internet files and yet it still downloades as a PDF file even when selecting "save to a disk". Does anyone have any idea how I can download this software to begin encoding AVI files into MPEG format??? Why is it choosing PDF?
Or another software I could use that will convert files into DVD format???

I belive that the tempenc is a zip file or another packed file type. you probably doesn't have that software to extrect the file.
Open up your file explorer and mark the tempenc file that you have problems with. Then goto show (i dont know if this is the proper name on the menu tag, i'm used to swedish) then choose alternatives. A new window should pop up... click on filetypes, then associate the tempenc file with the right software.
If you don't have WinRar or Winzip I recommend you to download these. Search at http://www.download.com for them.
I hope you will find this information helpful.
keep em coming ol' Swedish style

Actually I do have WinZip, originally it asked where to unzip it to, which I did, then it asked me what software to open it in, that is when I used Adobe and ever since I can never download it correctly. Do you know what type of software I should open it in?
Then I will try to change the format like you suggested.
Thanks, I'm still a little new to this.

I actually don't have a clue, when I downloaded the program I was never asked to associate the file with a program since it was a program itself.
what's the file ending of the file *.???

If you want to associate this file as a zip archive Open the folder where the file is.
Click the View menu option,
Click folder options,
Click the file types tab.
You can then reassociate the file type. -
... or re-install winzip.
... or left-click the downloaded file, then shift-right-click on it, and then pick "open with" and choose "winzip." -
Thank you everybody. Sorry it took so long to respond, I have been out of town. I had already deleted the other file so I tried once again to download TMPGEnc, through Winzip, this time clicking on overwrite all other files and it worked!!!!
