  1. Has anyone used these Sonic Brand DVD+Rs purchased from Shop4Tech? Are they any good? While they say that they are white top, when I click on the link at the Shop4Tech web site, it says that they are silver top--what gives? Since I have a new Epson R200, I now am looking for inkjet printable DVD+Rs (and I have an HP 300i which is rated at the top end for 4X speed DVD+R recording)--can I use 8X or 16X speed DVDs in this burner (and just record at the 4X max speed?)? Any and all help/suggestions/comments/advice will be MOST appreciated, so THANKS in advance!!

  2. Sonic DVD-R 8X 4.7GB (No Stacking Ring) White Inkjet Printable by shop4tech

I have bought over 300 at 32 cents per DVD and have had maybe 3 coasters. I burn at 4x

  3. Keep in mind tyhat white top does not equal inkjet printable!

Example Princo has made tons of white top = Hard plastic colored white. They would look great in a thermal printer, but the ink would just bubble up and not adhere to them if a inkjet was used.

IE White is a color no a type.

If it doesn't say inkjet printable, then you can not complain when they are white but not injet printable.

    Good Luck

  4. Tons of peope have had trouble with Sonics in the past. With top quality media as low as $30 per 100 it is just not worth the risk to buy a cheap off brand.
Still a few bugs in the system...

I've used 1500 of the -R 8x and burned them on my NEC3500 at speeds up to 12x or in my Duping tower with 5 Pionner 108 and they can burn at up to 16x. I use them for my business. I know that even though the media code implies they are Taiyo Yuden, many say the are fakes. I have gotten perfect scans and playability on these cheaps disk. Now the bad part, sort of. They come in 25 piec cake boxes. Plan on throwing out the bottom disk about 90% of time. They seem to always have eother dirt, defects or marring. As I buy them 600 at a time, some of the cake boxes are also cracked. Having said that, I've had great luck with these, no complains from any of my customers, and they print beautifully on my Primera Bravo II robotic Printer.
No DVD can withstand the power of DVDShrink along with AnyDVD!

There is positively no question what-so-ever. These are not now nor will they ever be TY media. This is the lowest form of forgery; at least shop4tech and others do not represent them as TY. At $32 per 100 you aren't even getting a good deal. I can currently get GENUINE TY media for $38 delivered. But to each his own. At least you were given both sides.

The 100 pack I got was pure Junk. I now use them for data storage of less than 3 gigs.
