I just got it for the ps2 and I havent had a chance to play it yet I hope its good also
-
I have to admit - I picked it up the day it came out.... with the widescreen edition of the trilogy set as well....
I haven't had the chance to install it yet - did I mention I was getting ready for a yard sale this weekend? Oh, yeah - I did that in the other thread!

that game looked cool, kinda wanna buy it. yeah make sure and give us a "russessment"* as cap puts it.

From what I have played so far it is a really good game. Long levels and you play as both sides. There are a bunch of different modes such as single player missions and mutliplayer missions. Have only played the first three levels so far but it is fun to play.
Lots of good configurations in the menus also.....you can turn V-sync off/on, AA off/on.....lots of other video card settings as well.
Not as good of a report as a russessmentŠ but it will have to do for now.

My soon to be brother in law spent two hours trying to install this game. It kept saying he need to update Direct X to 9.0c He'd click update and it failed out saying a required cab file is missing. He then downloaded the one from Microsoft and it failed saying that programs downloaded from Microsoft could not be trusted!!! Stupid PCs.

Well it went back to the shop today. The one player mode was good but the multiplayer just sucked.
It was far too wooden, movement was crap and it generally just did not hold up.
The game is based on the Battlefield 1942 engine so when I heard about it I was really excited. However it does just not hold up. Buy battlefield vietnam while watching Star Sars, that is the best option. -

If you continue with the installation, it will automatically set a System Restore Point first just in case you nuke your system.
I wouldn't say "stupid PCs" until there is a Mac version available for this game...Michael Tam

Hello,
I'm going to try to rent the xbox version sometime. I saw in the game trailer that you can shoot Ewoks!
Anyway, I like the fact that it seems to have the prequels and the original trilogy all in one. I will have to have a look at it myself.
The only complaint I have is that I can't run the game trailer on the Trilogy bonus disc without the stupid xbox dvd adapter!!!I don't want to spend an extra $10 or $15 for dvd support when I have two standalones AND a pc dvd burner!
That's the only edge I'll give the PS2 is that it has built in native dvd support.

I'm playing fable right now and it should hold me until then. -

Got it for my PS2, played it on-line for the first time over the weekend.
It is a lot of fun. I found the on-line play to be addicting. Stayed up all night playing it on Sat.
It is nothing special over any of the other on-line FPS, but it is still a great game in my opinion, a lot of replay value both on-line and off. -
Hello,
I'm going to try to rent this tonight if it's not out of stock at blockbuster.
Anyone heard when kotr2 is out???? I'm thinking of buying kotr one used. I borrowed it from my brother in law for awhile and liked it well enough but not at full price.

Hello,
Well no Battlefront at my Blockbuster. I'm not suprised though. So I rented Project Gotham 2 for the Xbox instead. Pretty neat! Boy racing games sure have come far from the 8bit NES Rad Racer!
(actually it has similarities to the ps1 Ridge Racer in terms of basic car physics and graphic tone - though heavily beefed up with the 128bit graphics and p3 processor!)

--It says 12-31-04 for the North American release of KOTOR 2, thanks Devanshu!--

No problem...I was a little surprised about the release date. Wouldnt it make more sense to release it BEFORE christams? Oh well.
