  1. I'm trying to capture (transfer) from two DV camera simultaneously using a single PC (with 2 disks).

I can't capture the two DV using only WinDV.

If I first start WinDV and capture the camera it can 'see' and then start MooGear DV Capture and select the other camera i can capture the other camera.

My problem is that I can't run two istances of MooGear.....

My question is: what application can I use to capture more than one DV video simultaneously???

    I know it's possible... I wonder how!!!

Sorry for my BAD english, I'm italian.

    Regards[/b]

I think that you might be able to, if connect two firewire cards, or
one, but use two separate fw cable/ports to the fw card.
    .
But, you might be limited only by your fw capture app. I think that
WinDV would best, because the more firewire cables you have conencted
to a DV port, the more entries WinDV will include in its window.
    .
You just have to select each one for *each* fw cable. The driver will
separate the driver to select in WinDV.

I think that this can be possible if you give it a try.

  8. I have tried using WinDV but I can see onliy one camera in the list of available devices and if I start a new window of WinDV it gives me the message "error: error".

Now I'm trying tranferring the DV using an evaluation verios of Scenalyzer... it lets me to select the device i want to trasfer from.

    (I'm using 2 firewire card)

I let you know my results.

  9. Right now,
Scenalyzer allows to capture simultaneously from 2 DV Camera using two different firewire board, I have tried using a single firewire board but I can't see the cameras signal.

After capturing about 50 minutes of movie (at 25fps) from both camera (using 2 disks to store the videos) I reported for a movie 0 dropped frames and for the other only 9 dropped frame.

I have used Scenalyzerlive to capture at the same time from 2 different firewire devices (DV-camera and Pinnacle DV-box) on the same firewire card. It worked without a problem.
I don't see why it should not work.

a lot of firewire cards can not do this -- it is better to use two - if you can use just one , your lucky ..

Must be some crap cards then?

I just connect here what I need to my firewire card., Dv-Cam ,external Hd or whatever. (at the same time)
My friend also does this too, No problem at all.
It's crazy to have 2 firewire cards only to use 2 firewire (DV) devices.

not crazy -- i can capture and burn to dual external dvd burners at the same time ..

lot of people use multiple firewire cards - 1 for HD's and one for DV ... its pretty common
