  1. What's Up,

just a quick question. Recently I encoded a movie to VCD

using TEMPGEnc...instead of using 4:3 in the Aspect Ratio

i chose 1:1. Does that mean when i watch the movie on my

DVD player it will have a big black border around it?..

rather than being full-screen?...Thanks in advance.

  2. Most players disregard that setting on VCDs, and simply stretch or squeeze the picture horizontally to fit the screen. The White Book standard does not permit non-4:3 ratios, so this falls outside the VCD specification per se.

Off hand, I don't remember if the aspect ratio is even encoded into the mpeg-1 syntax.
