Hi my 106d wont burn on dma mode only on PIO witch is pretty slow and was wondering if any had this problem b4 i can do everything else on dma but burn.....all my software is upgraded including firmware and MOBO bios so i dont think it could be that thanks for any help Image removed for your privacy. /Moderator Capmaster

You might want to edit the photo and remove the license info from Registered to. I would uninstall the 106 and let XP reinstall it on your next reboot.

Delete your secondary controller or whatever its on & restart, wait for it to be redetected, reset dma mode.
If you use cheapo media it can reset it to Pio. -
Oh my bad on the picture thanks for editing it out did a clean install of xp and nero reloaded it it still hangs after 2-7%(depending on the size of the file) does anyone know of any driver that conflicts with the drive? i know the drive is still good because it can burn still on pio mode

not on the current computer i am using......but it worked on another computer i have worked perfectly untill i tried it on here this is my Girlfriends computer i am trying to troubleshoot cant seem to figure this out shit...

Lots of topics on the net about this. For me it was that I forgot to list it in the bios. It was set to NONE, set it to AUTO.
