I would first try some different media.

BTW, filling out your computer profile helps immensely. We don't even know what OS or burner you are talking about. Also what version of NERO? And what media? You won't get much help without all that info.

Have you used the same brand of DVD discs (Media) to burn successfully before? If not, the brand of DVD or type of disc may be your problem. If you go to 'DVD Writers' to the left and type in 'Sony DW-D22A' you will see comments about your DVD writer that may help.

The sounds you hear from your player is the player unsuccessfully trying to read the disc and find the tracks. Not good for the player. Just eject it.

Also, go the the NERO site and see if they have any recommendations for that writer.

You might pick up a couple of compatible RW DVDs and use them to sort out the problems. It could be the DVD, WinAVI, NERO, or the Sony writer that is causing the problem. You have to find the best combination for your particular setup. The RWs will save you some time and money on wasted discs.

Before you burn the files to Nero, try watching them using your software player (Media player or PowerDVD...) to determine if you have the correct DVD file format. If this works, then try burning at a lower speed will not using your computer for anything else. And Maxwell makes coffee, I am sure you meant maxell.

Play from what? Files on your HD or on a DVD disk in your drive? In other words, is it possible that your DVD drive is a problem or do you have a software problem?

PowerDVD will not play even after you re-install? Have you recently installed a codec pack like ffmpeg?

  16. for visulisations, thats what media player does, try the now playing section of it,and go into media players settings and stop it from downloading codes, simple really when you look into the options.
sounds like your confusing mp3 files with video files
if windows media player is associated with a video or music file, then a wmp icon will be there
stop using windows media player and concentrate on power dvd.
uninstall it,delete the folder for it,then restart and reinstall.
sounds like a codec problem, have you installed any codecs lately??
also for converting to dvd,try vsodivxtodvd, from www.vso-software.fr its free, and it works.
you dont have to do the whole movie, just let it do 5%say,and then check it out in one of the pc players, like powerdvd if its working.
by the way, windows media player is shite, and winavi,is mediocre at best.
