  1. Hello

I have two recordings of the same programme: one has a good picture but poor audio, the other a poor picture but poor audio.

What I would like to do is to combine the good video and audio to make one dvd or add the good audio as a second soundtrack.

Is it possible to do this using software (preferably freeware)? I have searched the forum a few times but have not found anything of help - perhaps I have been using the wrong keywords, or maybe haven't seen the wood for the trees?

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Hello,

    Ok one question:

What format is the recording in?????

Find the GOOD SOUND and use it as a seperate audio track. Tmpgenc or besweet can strip out various audio formats. VIRTUALDUB can as well - if it's mpeg use virtualdubmpeg2.

You can use virtualdubmpeg2 and select the video and add the audio as wav track - you can select the audio source from the audio tab.

If you want to add it as a SECOND audio track you can use ifoedit to add it after you author it to the dvd structure.

A little more reading and practice will be required. Check out the guides to the left of the screen for virtualdub guides

Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw?

  3. Thanks very much Kevin, I'll do that.

The recordings are on dvd +r or -r discs.
