  1. Hi, some of my dvds just seem to hang at certain points in the movie. They get stuck, sometimes for a second or two, sometimes more, then continue on playing again. I use windows media player to play them. Is there any software that will go right through those stuck points and continue on playing without the delays?

    Thanks.

  2. Have you tried Media Player Classic?

Also, is it a regular dvd, or a recorded dvd-r?

  4. It may help. It's a good player - small memory footprint.

    Free too!

  5. I think that you may be experiencing Title breaks. I have seen this when I imported VOBS into DVD Workshop directly from the DVD (to reauthor), and the program changed all of the Chapter stops to TITLES!! In other words, this particular DVD paused 28 times (28 Chapter stops that now were Titles)!! I believe that this is normal operation, e.g. to pause for a few seconds in between Titles.

  6. No its not title breaks. If you read carefully i say that sometimes it stops for a few seconds and sometimes for minutes. Once I forgot to turn the movie off when it got stuck, and it finally got through the error a few hours later.

The question is simple, is there any software that skips through scratch and dust mark errors on the dvd when playing it on the computer, like most non-computer dvd players do for the living room.

  9. Ok well maybe i should tell you that your Problem is the Disc,ITs NO GOOD...Use Isobuster to rip the files to your computer and make another copy. Very simple realy...19 days and you still cant figure it out.

If you didnt like what I said try solving the problem yourself.Oh wait you have been for 19 days.

  10. No its very simple...the dvd plays on every dvd player, but does not play on computer players. This is because the dvdpleyers skip over any small scratches and dusted parts of the dvd, while the computer players freeze.

So I am asking if anyone knows if there are computer software players that can do that.

And no I have not been slaving away at this for 19 days, I play it on my home theater dvd player in the living room and it runs fine. I just wondered if anyone know a way to play them on a computer, obviously not...

  11. Just a wild guess, but do you have MPC set for a renderless output (i.e. VMR7 or VMR9) to load subtitles? That makes it glitchy for me, returning to default Direct Show Video makes all smooth again.

Good luck fixing it, that's an odd problem.

EDIT: Oooh, just read it again, you aren't using MPC. Oh well. Something screwy with your system, then, not the DVDs?
    Pull! Bang! Darn!
