  1. I never had this problem before:
I went to capture from a home video using mpeg2 setting through the MMC capture routine tonight. Everything looked fine, same settings I always use for 2 hours (nearly identical to Lordsmurf's suggestions except for the bit rate settings are slightly different), I have used these settings for nearly a year.
Anyways, after the tape was finished I went to import the resulting mpg file into DVDlab and got an error that the video was not compliant. I checked the file with GSpot and it showed it to by DIVX with mpeg audio!
I triple checked the settings and could find no problem. Last time I captured video was about two months ago and everything went fine.
I did use DVDx to encode some files a few weeks ago to divx, but I don't see how that could create this problem.
Any thoughts on what might be going on here?
Any idea how to get the ATI capture settings back to normal?

    That did the trick

Is it normal for the settings to get corrupt like this?

Forget which version of MMC I'm using, I'm at least 3 versions behind I think.
