  1. The MacWorld keynote file has a frame rate of 15.
Should I leave it at that when converting to DVD, to then burn w/ Toast?
Or should I change it to PAL?

    Thanks,
    Dale

  2. 15 is not a valid framerate for a DVD, so you must change to PAL or NTSC.

  3. so, it you change it to 29.97 fps, how does ffmpegx invent the rest of the data? does it duplicate frames?

  4. It's been my experience that FFMPEGX always loses audio sync when changing the frame-rate of MOV files. MPEGs and AVIs tend to suffer this a lot less.

The 2 workarounds I've found are:

1-Convert the MOV file in Quicktime Player as losslessly as possible (high bit-rates, mjpeg/ima codecs) while changing the frame-rate, and then re-encoding this new, now higher frame-rate, MOV with FFMPEGX to DVD.

2-Cutting up the MOV file into 10 minute chunks. Converting each chunk to a DVD compliant MPEG with FFMPEGX while changing the frame-rate, and then reassembling all the MPEGs with Streamclip.

Option 2 is more annoying, but it preserves quality and tends to be faster on slower computers.

    Hope this helps,
    Alph
