  1. I have been using the nero scandisk and have founf 1/2 my dvd's have bad sectors toward the last 1/2 hour or so.

I am using G4 ritek printable. Tried a Sony DRU-510 and a LG 4160B drive.

Anyone have any clue or have had a similar experience?

    Thanks

  2. Media integrity failing at the end of a disc is a classic sign of poor media.

  6. Buy TYG02 printables if you're willing to pay a little extra for quality.
My friend burned this one with a Pioneer 105:

  7. OK, thanks, what is that graph? What does it represent. Should I use that to check for quality?

Best place to purchase the tyg02's

    Thanks

  9. Office depot has 15 Ty's for just $4.99 today, they are 8x & Maxells. Look near upc tag, it should say made in japan if they are Tys. Great deal too.

jeryray, apart from the scandisk results, how do the discs actually play in your player ? Do they play through ok, or do they pixelate at the end ?

  12. When scandisk shows sectors as non readable, the end of the movie usually sticks and may or may not play through.

I have tried memorex 4x and 8x disks and they are fine, but not printable.

The riteks I have are 4x and 8x, the LG 4120 and 4160 don't like that media.
I have a lg4163 that works much better although I still see some errors.

I have ordered 100 of those ty disks from Rima.

    Hope they burn properly.

    Thanks

...and if they still fail at the end, just don't fill the DVD to the brim! leave 1-200 MB empty, and your troubles will be gone. (we're talking about like 3% of the total capacity here that gets "wasted" - It won't make much (if any) visible difference in the overall quality, and beats the hell out of losing the last part of the movie...)
