I am a newb to encoding and have not ever run into this before. So, my question is what should i set the source aspect ratio and the converted aspect ratio as?

    1) Give us a screen cap of your source file so we can see what it should look like.

    2) Describe what it is you are trying to do. In proper English, preferably.
"It's getting to the point now when I'm with you, I no longer want to have something stuck in my eye..."

  5. I apologize but, what exactly is a "screen cap"?

Edit: I figured out the aspect ratio using the guide. I thank you both for the assistance.

    Hello,

Just to let you know here are two of the most common ratios for movies:

    2.35:1
    1.85:1

Movies like Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, and other "EPIC" movies are in the super stretch mode (it will fill only the middle portion of a normal 4:3 tv). (2.35:1)

The 1.85 mode is mostly for comedies and some drama bits.... The bars will only consume a small portion of a 4:3 tv.

    Kevin

(I know there are other ratios but the VAST MAJORITY of hollywood movies use one of those two ratios )
